Who We Are
Deck-Tek was founded in 1992 by Jay Grubbs, a father with an entrepreneurial spirit, work ethic, and a passion for quality craftsmanship. After hand-building a log cabin for our family to live in, he discovered a stain that stood the test of time, preserving the wood’s beauty and strength for years. Recognizing the need for durable, long-lasting deck and fence care, he brought this product and expertise to others, thus, Deck-Tek was born.

Ironically, one of the biggest "problems" Jay faced was that his work was too good, his stain treatments lasted so long that repeat customers took years to return! But word spread quickly, and through the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s, Deck-Tek became a trusted name in the Greater Indianapolis area, built on referrals and the kind words of satisfied homeowners.

After decades of success, Jay retired, and his son, Brandon Grubbs, who had already been running job sites and managing the business, took the lead. In 2014, Deck-Tek intentionally slowed down as Brandon pursued his bachelor’s and master’s degrees, while also balancing life as a father of four, full-time pastor, and football and track coach.

Now, after completing his education and with a renewed vision, Brandon and his wife, Rebekah, are bringing Deck-Tek to all of Indianapolis. With Rebekah’s gift for hospitality and eye for design, and Brandon’s hands-on expertise, Deck-Tek remains a family business at heart, combining decades of knowledge with fresh innovation. Our logo, website, and social media presence are new, but our commitment to excellence and customer care has stood strong for over four decades.
